Professional Service
Over the course of my Ph.D. program at the University of Florida, I have developed a keen interest in serving my profession. So far, I have had the opportunity to serve as a discussant at the FMA conference (“Common Dynamics of Corporate Waves,” 2014), as well as support official University graduation procedures. I look forward to further developing my service record by developing Finance programming and seminars at my future academic institution. I am interested in serving on program committees as a presenter, discussant and in other professional capacities.
University and Broader Community Service
As a Finance Ph.D. student who has built a reputation for serving my department and college, I am frequently called upon to serve both graduate and undergraduate academic efforts. In support of the full-time University of Florida MBA program, I regularly provide assistance to students by offering one-on-one Finance tutoring and mentoring sessions. I have also assisted with MBA recruitment efforts, orientation sessions and club-oriented Finance presentations. At the undergraduate level, I assist students with securing employment opportunities by providing employment coaching, industry recruiter connections and letters of recommendation. In my future role, I look forward to building on these efforts by finding new ways to continue serving the broader academic community.
